ooh- a new face! welcome.
as i mentioned on my other blog, wednesday night i heard that gas in atlanta was already up past $6/gallon, which is ridiculous.
i took this picture right after i put $10 into my tank. i was at the bank across the street yesterday afternoon, and noticed that the prices had already gone up by 40 cents.
what really irritated me was reading an article in the paper on thursday about the rv owners who were filling their tanks (we had a huge panic over gas around here, which is part of why i held off on buying any) so they could drive across town to tailgate before the usc (university of south carolina- not your usc) game. several of the folks interviewed were towing cars/trucks behind their rvs, and, when asked, said they'd chosen to drive their rvs because they had more space and modern onveniences.
freaking ridiculous.
it is my vain hope that maybe the higher gas prices will inspire folks to conserve their gas and swap out their suvs (which, let's face it, generally wind up functioning as minivans fo folks who don't want to admit they need a freaking minivan to haul all their crap around) for something a little more fuel efficient.
meanwhile, certain high profile folks with oily connections are making out like bandits.
wow, i got a little ranty there.
